Who we are

Spring & Dial is a watch reference publication operated by Type 5 Marketing LLC. Contact: info@springanddial.com.

What we collect

Contact form submissions. When you send us a message we receive the name, email address and message text you provide. We use them to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list — we do not operate one.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read. It sets cookies and collects usage data including approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, and interactions such as clicking a buy button. This is aggregate traffic measurement; we do not attempt to identify individual readers.

Nothing else. No account system, no newsletter, no advertising network, no user profiling, no data sold or shared with anyone for marketing.

Affiliate links

Buy buttons on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain and then to the retailer with a tracking tag attached. The retailer — currently Amazon — can then see that the visit originated here and pays us a commission if you purchase. That process is governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, not ours, and once you leave this site your data is theirs to handle.

Full affiliate disclosure.

Cookies

  • Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic
  • Retailer cookies set by Amazon when you follow a buy link, which is how the affiliate attribution works

We set no advertising cookies of our own. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them, though the buy links will not be attributed to us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data we hold is contact form correspondence.

Email info@springanddial.com and we will action it.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, Google publishes a browser add-on for the purpose.

Data retention

Contact correspondence is kept as long as it is useful for handling your enquiry and then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes
