Seiko Prospex Turtle SRPE93
A 45mm case with a 47.7mm lug-to-lug, which is why it fits wrists it should not.

The SRPE93 is a 45 mm cushion-case Prospex diver with a 47.7 mm lug-to-lug, 13.2 mm thickness and 22 mm lugs, running the 4R36 automatic. It is rated 200 m and carries the ISO 6425 DIVER’S marking, with a screw-down crown at 4 o’clock and a Hardlex crystal.
Why the 45 mm number misleads
The Turtle is the most misjudged watch in Seiko’s catalog. Its 45 mm figure sends people to smaller watches that fit them worse, because the cushion case is widest at the middle and its lugs turn down sharply. The lug-to-lug — the length across your wrist — is 47.7 mm, which is shorter than a great many 42 mm watches.

In practice most people down to about a 6.5-inch wrist can wear a Turtle comfortably. Below that, the SPB117 is the better route into a Seiko diver.
What the ISO 6425 marking means here
The DIVER’S 200 m text on the dial is not decoration. To carry it, the watch was tested for condensation resistance after thermal shock, survival at 125% of rated pressure, legibility at 25 cm in darkness, magnetic resistance to 4,800 A/m, and bezel operation under load, among other requirements. The screw-down crown at 4 o’clock is part of that, and it has a second benefit nothing to do with water: at 4 o’clock the crown does not press into the back of your hand when you bend your wrist.

Everything else — case, lug-to-lug, movement, rating — is identical. The King Turtle is a crystal and bezel-material upgrade, and the date magnifier is divisive and permanent.
Living with it
Screw the crown down
It is the entire basis of the water rating. A screw-down crown left unscrewed is a push-pull crown, and the watch will let water in.
The bracelet is the weak point
Seiko’s factory bracelet on the Turtle is adequate rather than good. A curved-end rubber strap or a solid-link bracelet is the single best upgrade — the 22 mm options are here.
Gaskets are consumables
The water rating depends on rubber seals that age. If the watch actually goes in water, pressure-testing every few years is the part people skip and should not.

Skip this one if: you have a wrist under about 6.5 inches. The lug-to-lug is forgiving but the case is still visually wide, and the smaller SRPG references exist for exactly this reason.

Questions
Is the Seiko Turtle too big for a small wrist?
Usually not, down to about a 6.5-inch wrist. The 47.7 mm lug-to-lug is shorter than many smaller-diameter watches because the cushion case turns down sharply at the lugs. Below 6.25 inches, look at the 39.5 mm SPB references instead.
Is the Seiko Turtle a real dive watch?
Yes — 200 m with a screw-down crown and the ISO 6425 DIVER’S marking, which means it passed the standard’s condensation, pressure, legibility and magnetic resistance tests.
Turtle or King Turtle?
The King Turtle adds sapphire and a ceramic bezel insert for roughly $100 more; case, movement and rating are identical. Worth it if the watch lives outside a desk drawer, not if it does not.
Why is the crown at 4 o'clock on a Seiko Turtle?
It keeps the crown off the back of your hand when the wrist bends, which is more comfortable on a thick case. It is a Seiko diver signature going back to the 1970s originals.
What lug width is the Seiko Turtle?
22 mm, shared with the 5KX family, the Samurai and the SSK GMT references — the deepest aftermarket strap size available.
